deierenpark
The animal park located in Esch-Gaalgebierg is only a stone-throw away from the city centre. Some 150 animals of 25 species live in that park: amidst many others, donkeys and goats await your visit. The park hosts also a very popular petting zoo, where children and grown-ups are welcome to touch and feed docile animals. The kids can burn off some energy on two playgrounds. The zoo is easily reachable by minibus from the station of Esch. Of course, you can also reach it by walking or driving there with your own car. Fun fact: the opening hours allow you to visit whenever you like, as the park is open to public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! The entry is for free and so is also the animal feed. In the zoo area you can find a charming café in a tree house where all products served (be it juice, or cake, or …) are organic and/or from local/regional producers. Nested in a tree, the Bamhauscafé offers a picturesque view onto the zoo area. Besides there are 3 tree houses for rent, where nature lovers can spend the night. The tree houses are decorated and furnished in 3 different styles and host 2 up to 6 people. In 2021, both the zoo park and the tree houses won the "Luxembourg Tourism Award 2021". Truly, the Escher Déierenpark is worth a visit!
