Corniche
Whether winter or summer, if you want to enjoy a nice walk through the capital but without window-shopping, endless concrete, tall buildings, noise and toxic exhaust gases … Then head for the Corniche – truly a funny name, not to be confused with the french word “cornichon”! The Corniche is the French term for a pathway that runs alongside the fortress walls. This panoramic tour is internationally recognized as being the “most beautiful balcony of Europe”; the view onto the Alzette valley and onto the area called Grund (Gronn) is simply breath-taking and unique and therefore THE most prestigious emblem of the City of Luxembourg. Also note that the Corniche is part of the Wenzel Circular Walk! An idyllic site to have a picnic or a relieving walk with impressive viewpoints on the wonderful Gronn area.
